Getting Started

Even if you are a new IR, and just signed up today, chances are you already understand that in order to succeed in this business, you're going to have to tell people about the products and services we offer.

Many of us make the mistake of trying to sell our friends, family and business associates on our business. No one likes to be sold. But the truth is that everyone likes to buy.

The key here is that many of us try to sell before we establish a reason to sell. You cannot jump into selling without first establishing a relationship and getting to know your prospect. Prospecting is the first step and the most important step in building your business. Prospecting is the first phase of the sales cycle.

When we prospect, we take a proactive approach to building our business. When we are prospecting, we are not selling- we are sorting. When we prospect, we are looking for the people who have a genuine interest in our products, services and/or business opportunity. When we prospect, we will get many "no's" - people who are uninterested, unable or unwilling to run a home-based business. When prospecting, you are looking for people who have a genuine interest in having a home-based business, those who have the time and desire to be successful in this industry.

Many people find it simplest to have an "audio logo" or a concise statement about what we do. Here is mine:

It is also helpful to have a one to two minute "elevator pitch" about the business opportunity. Liberty International offers innovative products and services and a very generous compensation plan. Choose the products that move you and learn to sum up what you sell in less than two minutes. This will not waste anyone's time and allow you to sort much more effectively.

Once you've sorted, it's time to build your organization. Now you must have the skills and confidence to sell and close the deal. 

 

PITFALLS of success

While you are jumpstarting your business, prospecting is essential. Don't fall victim to these three tendencies that stop many new network marketers from prospecting at all:

               Distraction
               Apathy
               Skepticism

Accept No Excuses
Build your ladder of success one rung at a time.
Secure your own success by defining what success means to you. Hold yourself accountable to your own goals. See yourself as you know you can be. Feel into your biggest vision of your self. Take consistent action over time and develop the self-awareness and discipline you need to remain consistent in your efforts.


Once you are emotionall and mentally geared for success, you are ready to go for it and build your organization.
